Quote Comparison (RFQ)

Compare supplier quotes side by side.

When to use it

Use it when several suppliers quote the same list. Paste the quotes, and it finds the lowest price per line, the cheapest complete quote and the saving from a split award.

What you enter

  • First line: Item, Quantity, then supplier names. Then one item per line with a price per supplier

Leave a price empty if a supplier did not quote. Paste straight from Excel.

What you get

  • Result
  • Comparison

How it works

Totals use quantity × unit price. Green marks the lowest quote per line. Split award is the total if every line goes to its cheapest supplier, which may add freight and admin cost. Compare lead time, terms and quality before awarding on price alone.

How to use the Quote Comparison (RFQ)

The quote comparison puts every supplier's response to an RFQ on the same basis so you choose on total value, not headline price.

  1. Enter each supplier's unit price, tooling, freight, lead time, MOQ and payment terms.
  2. Weight the criteria that matter for this purchase.
  3. Review the ranked result and record the reason for the choice.

Worked example

Supplier X quotes $12.40 with a 10-week lead time and a 2,000-unit MOQ; Supplier Y quotes $13.10 with a 3-week lead time and a 500-unit MOQ. Once inventory carrying cost and the risk of a long lead time are included, Y has the better total value.
