  • 5S workplace organisation: The five 5S steps with Japanese names and a one-line meaning each.
  • The 8 wastes (TIMWOODS): Eight tiles: Transport, Inventory, Motion, Waiting, Overproduction, Over-processing, Defects, Skills.
  • PDCA improvement cycle: Four quadrants with arrows showing the loop from Plan to Do to Check to Act.
  • Kanban pull loop: Supplier process, supermarket and customer process with the kanban card returning as the signal to produce.
  • Two-bin kanban: Two bins with a reorder card and four steps of the refill cycle.
  • Value stream map symbols: Eight common VSM symbols: process, data box, inventory, supplier/customer, push arrow, supermarket, kanban post, kaizen burst.
  • Heijunka box: A levelling board with products down the side and time slots across, with cards spread evenly.
  • Takt time: Formula tiles (available time ÷ demand = takt) with a bar chart of step cycle times against the takt line.
  • Kaizen steps: Five ascending steps from observing the process to improving again.
  • Example value stream map: A simple current-state map: supplier, three processes, inventory triangles, customer and timeline ladder.
  • Jidoka and Andon: Six-step stop-the-line flow with an andon light tower.
  • SMED three stages: Separate, convert and streamline with bars showing stopped time falling from 100% to 40%.
  • OEE tree: OEE broken into availability, performance and quality with the six big losses grouped under each.
  • Yamazumi chart: Stacked bars of value-adding, required and waste time per station with a takt line.
  • A3 problem-solving layout: Seven-section A3 template laid out left to right.
